Well, it had to come to an end sooner or later.
These are the results where everything comes to a head, at least in-character pweonline.webs.com/archives/solitary_71.htm,
It is not part of an elaborate in-character scheme that will make way for a new in-character fedhead. It's not part of anything other than reality.
First, I must sincerely apologize for keeping this a heavily-guarded secret, at least in terms of speaking with a lot of you. I don't know how many people speculated it since I'm rarely on AIM anymore, or whatever other mediums y'all e-folk use to speak about the subject. I
Secondly, I must apologize to those who discussed plans for the future with me. Being 100% candid, I did not want to go out this way. Going back to Road to Glory, my ultimate goal was to get to 150 Solitarys and Cyberslam XIII.
Third, this was not a spur of the moment decision. It was officially decided months ago and a lot of the personal pitfalls I had prevented the announcement from getting out earlier, but it was always supposed to come out at the end of Solitary 71.
As of Cyberslam VII, PWE is closing its doors forever.
I'm sure some are asking why. Well, over the course of those aforementioned months, and months prior, a lot of realizations have come about that have made keeping this place afloat impossible.
1. While my motivation to work has perked up ever since gaining my new promotion, I still have not given all the fire and passion I should have to PWE, and ultimately my interest in being the ring-leader has diminished significantly since Cyberslam VI. It had nothing to do with burnout (well, not this reason at least), but I am losing interest in the game and the fact I still haven't been able to sit down and plot out a comeback as a roleplayer should be lucid enough evidence.
2. In the heyday of editing, I was devoting far more time to what felt like a thankless job. I spent 6 hours most shows, 8 in some, and even days altering phrases, segments, matches, or whatever to meet my specific requirements. It's a huge strain on me to keep doing that over and over again, which given the spark I have received from employment would have occurred again had I chosen to keep going to my target date of Cyberslam VIII. Every show needs to have my perfectionist stamp of approval and exerting that energy is not something I wish to keep doing beyond Cyberslam VII.
3. Being a fedhead is frankly something I'm not interested in long term. I've finally been cleared by doctors to get back in the ring to wrestle, so alot of my time is gonna be devoted to that. I'm starting to develop more of an urge to get out and explore the world, to do the things that I haven't done yet in life. Sitting around and talking angles and shit of the sort isn't something that fascinates me as much as it used to.
4. The fact nobody is capable of stepping up and taking the reigns. There's no person is waiting in the wings, and I'm not opening it up in any capacity for applicants to take over after I'm gone.
5. People are not contributing enough. I've handled other characters just to get them to the finish line and I should not have to do that. Under any circumstance. After ASW, I figure we would have about 7 people, outside myself, in PWE. In the Yahoo! Days, that was considered enough to get a fed running, but it is not sufficient for a federation of this caliber.
6. To paraphrase Michael Jordan from his first retirement: When I lose the sense of motivation and the sense of to prove something as a fedhead, it's time for me to walk away.
So those are the reasons. Now, for more elaboration since I've got a bit more to cover before wrapping this post up.
My secret goals, when the XWF was going strong exploded, were three things: Get PWE healthy again (accomplished), be better than XWF for a small period of time (accomplished), and bring PWE to one more Cyberslam to go out on our own terms.
To those I went to the ends of the Earth to recruit to keep PWE alive, I again apologize to you. I thought you would have a chance to fully explore PWE and get your feet wet over the next year before this situation came up. I wanted to see people like Jennifer Shaw and Brian Savage get a chance to expand their horizons in PWE. While Brian will get the Gateway shot at ASW, I think he had enough character development and personality to one day get a shot at the Universal Title. Shaw was getting better also, definitely capable of being a champion if she put in some more work.
To the veterans who stuck with us through the hard times, I respect and admire your dedication to this place. It meant the world to me that you didn't jump ship when you had the chance and stayed by my side during the difficult times of last year and this year.
Now that we've got the pleasantries out of the way, let me explain what's going to happen next.
The State Penn... not happening at All Star Weekend.
Yeah, I know, those who are writing monster pieces for that are going to be angry with me. You've got every right to be. The field simply wasn't enough. We didn't get enough outside people, and it would only cause more pain and agony if I extended the deadlines to get the number up to a respectable number knowing half of the people on the roster page likely wouldn't show up.
This was closer to a spur of the moment decision, finalized last week at least in my mind.
The State Penn will now happen at Cyberslam. This does drastically reduce what the winner can get in terms of a bounty, although I'd hope being the last State Penn winner ever would be some consolation since I'm praying that a lot of people from the past are going to show up and we'll have a pretty sick field. I haven't decided whether it'll be on Night 1 or Night 2, but that decision will be made after ASW.
So to summarize, one night for All Star Weekend. No State Penn. Happening at Cyberslam.
After Culture Shock we're going to do 5 Solitarys that are jam packed with dream cards: title matches on each (so if you are a champion, get ready), and a chance for people of the past to come back and pay their last good-byes to the place, hopefully participate in some matches, and what not. We can also get some dream segments and all that good stuff.
We will conclude with Cyberslam VII in mid-September. The card will be posted in late September. The exact date is supposed to be September 23rd, but it could be a day or a few days later depending upon whether or not work forces me to do some extra time.
Now for the final and most important point of the post:
Anybody who has been a part of PWE's past is welcome back. Anybody who was part of ICE's past is welcome back. It does not matter what perception others have of you. If you want to come back for the entire spiel (A ASW return to Cyberslam), one show, the Cyberslam PPV only, the Penn only, then the doors are open for you.
If you are interested in coming back the e-mails are available below:

And my AIM is TheSuntanSupaman
I'm going to be making a master list and actively recruiting people to come in for this arc so I'm hoping to see a lot of you come in at least for a few cards, and to give us an epic Cyberslam VII to hang our hats on.
For those who haven't appeared in ICE/PWE before, unless you are a big name like Steve Jason, T-Money, The Dragon, etc. don't come in now. You won't build a legacy and this last arc is to pay tribute to those who have built legacies in our federation(s). Hopefully, that can be understood. Anybody can come in for the Penn (fresh off the street, veteran, whatever) but for the arc itself, I want established names only or past ICE/PWE folks.
With that being said, I'll let the news digest and those of you who want to post comments are more than welcome. You can lambast me for making the call, praise it, whatever.
